Netlet: Network Tools — privacy policy
Netlet is a set of network diagnostic tools. It has no account, requests no location or contacts permission, and sends nothing to servers operated by N934 Labs. Because the tools talk to the network by design, this page is specific about where each one sends what you type.
What the app stores on your device
- The last value you typed into each tool's input fields, so they are pre-filled next time. Stored only on your device; cleared by uninstalling or clearing app data.
- A count of tool runs (used only to space out interstitial ads) and a timestamp if you chose "hide ads for an hour".
- Your ad-consent choices, stored by Google's consent SDK.
Where each tool sends data
| Tool | What is sent | To whom |
|---|---|---|
| Ping, Traceroute, Port Scan, Wake-on-LAN | Network packets to the host or address you enter | Only that host / your local network |
| SSL Check | A TLS connection to the host and port you enter | Only that host |
| DNS Lookup | The domain name you enter | Your device's configured DNS resolver, and Cloudflare's DNS-over-HTTPS service (Cloudflare privacy commitment) |
| My Network | A request with no parameters, which necessarily reveals your public IP address | api.ipify.org, to display your public IP back to you |
| Subnet Calculator | Nothing — fully offline | — |
Only you decide which hosts to probe. Please use the scanning tools only on networks and systems you own or have permission to test.
Permissions
- Internet / network state — to run the tools and load ads.
- Wi-Fi state / multicast — to read your current connection details and to deliver Wake-on-LAN broadcast packets reliably.
Netlet does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, storage or phone permissions. On Android 10 and later the app therefore cannot see Wi-Fi network names (SSIDs) of nearby networks, and it does not try to.
Advertising
The app shows ads served by Google AdMob (Google LLC). To do this, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process:
- your device's advertising ID (resettable in Android settings), and other device identifiers Google uses for ad delivery and fraud prevention;
- approximate location derived from your IP address;
- device and app information such as model, OS version, language, screen size, app version, and how you interact with ads (impressions, clicks, time viewed);
- diagnostic data such as crash logs and performance metrics.
Google processes this data under its own policies: Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, and in US states with privacy laws, the app shows a consent dialog (Google's User Messaging Platform) before loading ads; you can change your choice at any time from the Privacy options link inside the app. You can also opt out of personalized ads device-wide in Android Settings → Google → Ads.
Watching a rewarded ad to hide ads for an hour stores a single timestamp on your device and nothing else.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. It is listed on Google Play for a general audience and is not part of the Designed for Families program.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your data: uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on the device. We hold no server-side account or data about you to delete.
- Ad personalization: reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings, or withdraw consent via Privacy options in the app.
- Questions or requests under GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or similar laws: email support@n934.net. We respond within 30 days.
Security
Data sent to Google's ad services is encrypted in transit. Data stored on your device stays within the app's private storage and is included in Android's standard encrypted backups if you have them enabled.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or on the store listing.
